Science experiment:
This week's science theme: M is for Magnets.

Invisible Force
Today the kids tried to move a magnetic car across a table using only another magnet (without touching it of course!) They came up with a couple of different alternatives: one was the put the magnet in front of the car and try to "attract" it across the table and the other was to have the magnet repel against the car's magnet and "push" it forward across the table. Both methods worked well!

Physical activity:
Outdoor play in the backyard.

Outing/social time:
None.

Worksheets:
Coloring M and N word pictures, tracing letters M and N, tracing M and N words, matching picture to beginning letter, counting and finding numeral, tracing numeral 8, matching dollar bills to value name, cutting various curved lines.

Hands on math:
Play with coins - counting, patterns, estimating who has most, sorting by denomination, adding coin values.

French:
French is emphasized throughout the entire day; especially theme related words. Today we practiced answering two questions: "C'est quoi ton nom?" when someone asks them their name and "Quel age as-tu?" when someone asks how old they are. We also continued to reinforce all of the notions that we covered in previous weeks and will continue to practice these sentences all week.
