The kids made bell bracelets by stringing beads and jingle bells onto pipe cleaners.

Science experiment:
The themes for this week's science experiments will all begin with the letter I!
Impermeable
Today the kids tested out different materials to see whether they were permeable or impermeable. First they manipulated each of the materials (paper towel, cloth, plastic bag and rain coat) and made their predictions. Next they took turns pouring water over each of the materials and watching to see if the water went through. We then discussed their results and I reminded them that this is why it is important to wear a raincoat rather than a t-shirt when it rains if they want their skin to stay dry!

Worksheets:
Finding words that begin with I, colouring I word pictures, filling in the missing I, tracing musical instrument names, distinguishing which words contain long I vs short I sound.

Instruments and music games on the iPad (Music House, Virtuoso, The Woodsy Band Jam (story), Discover Musical Instruments, Guitar HD, Drums HD, Xylophone HD, Kids Box, Young Music Genius).
Music:
Danced, sang and played instruments to our Instruments & Music theme compilation cd.
French:
French is emphasized throughout the entire day; especially theme related words. Today we practiced saying "J'ai fini" when they are done doing something and also continued to reinforce all of the notions that we covered in previous weeks. We will continue to practice these sentences all week.W
