Science experiment:

Since the weather this week was forecasted as being sunny and warm, I decided the theme for this week's experiments would be "Outdoor Fun!"

Floating Eggs

Today the kids experimented with trying to float eggs in both regular tap water and salty water. The difference really surprised them and it was the perfect opportunity to explain to them the reason why we can float so well in the ocean as compared to in a pool! (Note: We had originally planned to do this outdoors as we had been doing all week, but time constraints that day forced us to do it at the kitchen counter instead!)

Physical activity:
Sports Skills Development and Gymnastics class at Le Petit Gym.

Outing/social time:

Sports Skills Development and Gymnastics class at Le Petit Gym.

Worksheets:
Finding words that begin with J, finding pictures that begin with J, colouring J word pictures, filling in the missing J, writing letters F-J uppercase and lowercase, matching word to picture.

Hands on math:
None.

Computers:
Job games on the iPad (Swapsies, Great Jobs for Kids, Occupations puzzles).

Music:
Danced, sang and played instruments to our Jobs theme compilation cd.

French:
French is emphasized throughout the entire day; especially theme related words. Today we practiced saying "Est-ce que je peux aller dehors s'il-vous-plait?" when they want to go outside and also continued to reinforce all of the notions that we covered in previous weeks. We will continue to practice these sentences all week.
