Science experiment:
The themes for this week's science experiments will all begin with the letter I!

Ice
Today I showed the kids how they could use a string to lift an ice cube out of a glass of water by first putting salt on the ice and then laying the string across it. They tested it out for themselves and we then discussed how this was because the salt first melts the ice and creates a little puddle which then refreezes around the string. We also talked about how salt is used to melt ice on the roads in the winter.

Physical activity:
Morning dance party!

Outing/social time:

None.

Worksheets:
Coloring I word pictures, tracing letter I, tracing I words, differentiating above and below, counting and finding numeral, tracing the numeral 7, finding which group has more, matching instrument names to pictures, cutting curved lines of various shapes.

Hands on math:
None.

Computers:

French is emphasized throughout the entire day; especially theme related words. Today we practiced saying "J'ai fini" when they are done doing something and also continued to reinforce all of the notions that we covered in previous weeks. We will continue to practice these sentences all week.
