Theme this week is Colours

Water Rainbow
The kids practiced making all the colours of the rainbow using cups filled with water and food colouring. We talked about the primary colours (red, blue and yellow) and the kids took turns predicting what secondary colours would be produced by mixing the various primary colours together in different combinations. They then tested their predictions and we talked about their results.

Flower Power

Once they were done we then took 6 cups of coloured water (red, yellow, blue, purple, green and orange) and put 1 white carnation in each of them. We also cut the stems of 2 other carnations in half and put each half into a different colour. The kids made predictions about what would happen to the flower petals as they absorbed the coloured water through their stems and we will be watching all week long for the results!

Physical activity:

French is always emphasized throughout the entire day; especially theme related words. Today we practiced using "S'il vous plait" when making a request and "Merci" when that requested in granted. We also continued working on answering "Je ne comprends pas" when they don't understand something said to them in French and "Je ne sais pas" when they understand but don't know the answer. We will continue to practice these sentences all week.
